the (un)funny feminist falls in love: Man who has it all

I laugh because I love.
What to get, this holiday season, for the feminist in your life who already has it all? BELLY LAUGHS.

[Music plays softly, then rises in a swell. A voice begins to sing.]

Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger.
You may see a stranger across a crowded roomerm, Twitter feed.

And somehow you know, you know even then,
That somewhere you’ll see him again and again.

On Tumblr, perhaps…

…or on Facebook.

Yes, Man who has it all — it’s true. Some of us actually do!

Not all of us, though.

Pick carefully.

Or expect to be playing dumb alot.

Some enchanted evening, someone may be laughing.
You may hear him laughing across a crowded room Twitter feed.

Or, yknow, that could just be me you hear laughing.

You’re probably hearing me.

And night after night, as strange as it seems,
The sound of his laughter will sing in your dreams.

In my dreams, he’s all alone. And he’s eating salad.

Who can explain it, who can tell you why.
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try.

Though if I were gonna hazard a guess, I’d say it likely has something to do with ish like this.

And this.

And this.

Some enchanted evening, when you find your true love,
When you feel him call you across a crowded room…

Then fly to his side and make him your own,
Or all through your life you may dream all alone.

If that does happen, be sure your dreams have salad.

Or maybe just go see a play instead. A play about eating salad. All alone. While laughing.

Your choice.

Once you have found him, never let him go
Once you have found him, never let him go

Cuz nothing says “I love you” better than “stalky obsessed creeper who won’t leave you alone.”

N O T H I N G .

Well…except maybe pretty flowers.

And sometimes hearts.

  1. Children…children have made me laugh this week, and sometimes adult men who act like children have also made me laugh this week…along with the quizzical, side head tilt and eye roll thingy.

    1. Well, adult men’ll do that to ya sometimes! 😉 My big news of the day (which wasn’t funny, but surely involved joy!): Nathan’s blood work finally came back all TOTALLY NORMAL!! Woo hoo!!!

  2. I’ve had a very bad week, with health issues. 😦

The only thing that made me laugh was The Bloggess, and the collection of awkward tweets. 🙂

    1. Sorry to hear about the bad, sick week, Dana 😦 but am glad you found your way to The Blogess’ twitter extravaganza! Which has been the source of good-hearted glee — and more-than-just-the-occasional-guffaw-overload — for many of us. 😀

Hope the laughter (as well as other, more medically directed interventions, as needed) help you feel back to 100% soon!!

  3. What made me laugh this week? The uproar about Twitter changing its icon made for some funny tweets. And “Jeb can fix it” made me smile while wondering about him in a whole new way. And I, too, stumbled upon the @manwhohasitall, which is a hoot. Three bona fide laughs– that’s not bad for one week!
